INSIDE VAL D'ORCIA
On June 24th, we returned to visit the Val d'Orcia, staying for three days at La Torre del Conte, managed by Benedetta. An ancient house located in the old center of Montepulciano.
This time, thanks to Benedetta, we were able to find some lovely and unfamiliar photographic points by tourists.
We chosed the month of June to photograph the different textures of the fields, among them some still golden and others already worked.
The 72 hours spent in the valley allowed us to savor its essence, admiring how the sun's rays changed the perspective of the landscape.
After our first experience, we decided to face up Val d'Orcia with a different method of approach, waking up every morning at 5 am, driving to the selected spot to wait for the sunrise. That was our preferred moment of the day, where smells, sounds, and emotions filled up our souls. Hills kissed by the sun at dawn and dusk became the stage for foxes, roe deer, and anteaters. This visual experience, in close contact with nature, allowed us to see something that often remains hidden during the day.
At the end of each session, we had breakfast taking advantage of the break time to study other photographic spots to visit during the day.
Most of photographic spots are on the road that connects Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia, and Torrenieri. So we used the time between 10 am to 3 pm to find new ones.
Once we found the ideal spot, we took the picture with the phone to save its GPS coordinates. In this way, it was easier, because we could work at our best without wasting time.
This is a small example collection of photographs that use an evident key read. We use this section to show how we work and help people understand our visual language.
LINES ON THIRDS
This time we stayed in a beautiful historical location in Montepulciano, around 15 min away from Val d'Orcia. We do not have much time to explore Montepulciano but was enough to meet awesome people like Benedetta and the staff of L'Ortolano.
Below, the links of places that gifted us extraordinary support:
